Sixteen Year Old, Nicole Hess wins US Women’s Kickboxing Title!!

On April 3, 2004, 16 year old Nicole Hess from Alexandria, VA. competed for the vacant IKF USA Woman’s Lightweight Title against the 2003 North American Champion, Stephanie Kernan. It was a battle of two champions for the Number #1 IKF World Ranking in the 127-132 lbs. Woman’s division.

Weighing in at a lean 127 lbs. versus her opponent 133 , Nicole showed her defensive and counter skills as her opponent tried keep Nicole out of range with her long legs and hand combinations but Nicole countered beautifully with her own punches and kicks. Nicole got the better of most of the exchanges and seem to be the aggressor. . But only one will have the US title at the end of the night! In the end of the fifth and final round Nicole landed a flurry of punches and kicks to seal a victory against her opponent

In less then four years Nicole only sixteen years old has won Five Titles in the three different styles (Full Contact, International Rules & Muay Thai”) , establishing her as one of the youngest women’s champion in the world just as her brother ( Brent Hess) set his mark last year at a young age of 17 years old! She will keep competing and as the young champion Nicole says : “ You have to Beat the Best to be THE BEST and that’s what I intend to do!”

As for the Mi-Kido Team they keep adding up their championship titles, 23 titles in four years and Still coming! Ben Russell, ten year old champion put a display of his own by showing excellent hand combination along with some exciting kicks. He lit the crowd on fire!
