LOCAL ATHLETE WINS WORLD KICKBOXING CHAMPIONSHIP

MiKiDo Champion Umaer Haq, currently the WKA USA champion, represented the USA in the WKA World Championships held in Niagara Falls , N.Y. November 9-12, 2005. Umaer Haq, 17-year-old senior from Hayfield H.S. defeated Leroy Isidore a strong contender from Trinidad & Tobago. It was a tough fight with Isidore throwing hard kicks and punches all three rounds. Umaer side stepped and countered the attacks just as Coach Hess instructed him to do, winning a unanimous decision. Umaer fought Prince Lee Isidore in the night time main event winning by TKO in the 3rd. round with three knockdowns. Many people in the crowd were impressed with the skills of the 17-year-old in defeating the two hard punching brothers from Trinidad and Tobago.

Umaer Haq and the MiKiDo team is coached and trained by Master Mike Hess who has won 51 National & International Titles in the last four years making him the top kickboxing coach and trainer in the U.S. with four undefeated grand champions! He takes newcomers and experienced fighters and turns them into champions! The team also has won Mixed Martial titles. Mike & Maria Hess recently received a Community Service Award.
