MiKiDo Team wins 6 Titles in the East Coast Classic

The MiKiDo Team coached by Master Mike Hess had 8 wins, 6 titles and 4 tko’s at the East Coast Classic in Virginia Beach on March 5, 2005.

Kellen Phillips got the show started with a beautiful kicking display winning by a TKO in the second round in the 65lbs girls division.

Tarun Kamath six year old won the under 50 lbs. division with a TKO in the second round.

The third fight of the day was tough little 56 lbs. Jonathan Schweinefuss who defeated two opponents to win his division.

Then came one of the most exciting fights of the day, Kodie Richards of Team MiKiDo showed why he’s a champion going four rounds instead of three since the judges had a majority draw after the third round. He showed a lot of heart and perseverance.

Team MiKiDo didn’t miss a beat, next came fighter Tushar Kamath who stopped his opponent with a front kick to the stomach winning a 1st round TKO.

Next up for Team MiKido was tough and scrappy Tammie Dickson winning two unanimous decision matches in the 117 lbs. women’s division. She showed great ability and heart.

The main event for the MiKiDo Team fighting on the night show was 17 year old Umaer Haq stopping his opponent in the second round with a TKO! (technical knockout)

Assisting in the corner was MiKiDo Champion Nicole Hess and Mr. Richards. Coach Hess and his team were congratulated and called into the ring as the top team in the USA winning 42 titles in various divisions and organizations (IKF, WKA & ISKA).
